At what age did you begin learning your instrument?
I started learning the violin in primary school when I was 8 and loved it from the first lesson.
Where did you study?
I studied in Northampton where I grew up. Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Trust played a massive part in my life, I attended many orchestras there from the age of 9 to 18. I also went on to study my Foundation Degree in Teaching and Learning at Northampton University.

Who do you currently play for?
I currently play with The Charnwood Orchestra in Loughborough and really enjoy it.

Please tell us more about your music experiences.
Previously I have played with Northampton Symphony Orchestra and have also played in quartets for weddings and parties. In the past, I have played at Northampton's Derngate Theatre for shows including My Fair Lady, Carousel and many Gilbert and Sullivan Shows.

Have you performed on TV and Radio?
I've had the privilege of working with Mr. John Bowman to help deliver Music Therapy to children and Young Adults with additional needs which were recorded for Internet use and made into C.Ds.
Apart from music, what other hobbies do you have?
When I'm not playing or teaching the violin I love spending time with my lovely, mad dog Meg! She keeps me busy and makes me laugh every day.
If you had one piece of advice for music students, what would it be?
Listen to your pieces being played professionally, it will really help you to become familiar with them and to understand what you are aiming at, and of course practice too!

Is there anything else you would like to say?
Music is for everyone! Music is about having fun!
